Tyre: Pirelli P ZERO Asimmetrico

The Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres are ultra high performance tyres from Pirelli Tyres. Suitable for powerful sports cars and saloons, these tyres are ideal fitments on personalised tuned-up cars. The Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres are of Pirelli’s ultra high performance PZero range. This is the range where Pirelli has brought many tyre technologies from their racing track experience for on-road driving. The flagship tyres of this range – the Pirelli PZero tyres remain the benchmark for the entire UHP (ultra high performance) tyres segment. The most distinctive feature of the Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres is their advanced asymmetric tread pattern that is precise on dry surface and remains resolute on wet. So you experience exceptional handling, grip and aquaplaning safety, make your ride truly exhilarating because there are no safety concerns. Of course the term ‘asimmetrico’ is Italian for asymmetric.

The performance of the Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres can be attributed to asymmetric tread pattern that exhibits three distinct areas - the outer shoulder with rigid wide tread blocks, a central wide rib with sipes and 3 longitudinal grooves with smaller tread elements in the inner shoulder tread.

Precise handling and control: The outer shoulder tread blocks maximise the contact patch on dry surface and confer exceptional handling characteristics. The central rib maintains constant contact with the surface and confers lateral stability during cornering allowing you to maintain absolute control at all speeds.
Increased wet safety: The three longitudinal grooves expel water from the tread, preventing clogging of the tread grooves. The smaller tread blocks dig into wet surface and maximise grip and traction. Thus risk of aquaplaning and skidding on wet surface is greatly reduced even at high speeds.
Enhanced stability at high speeds: An active internal tyre structure for the Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres (result of innovative tyre technologies) makes them respond very quickly to rolling stresses. And more importantly, the tyres absorb these stresses, not allowing them to interfere with steering. So you can continue your high speed drive with maximum stability and confidence.
Consistent performance: Using a specialised tread compound that is resistant to temperature, the Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico tyres deliver consistent performance when cold and when hot (after prolonged usage) and throughout the tyre life.

I would be happier if my front tyres wore more even, but this is down to the car. I find that the tyres tend to pick up damaging items due to the compounds used but as the car was originally supplied with these I have not changed.

Unfortunately they need air every week, the front offside sometimes losing over 10 psi and the nearside 5. With all my hospital appointments I have been unable to get back to Berkhamsted to have the valves etc checked. Both rear tyres originals hold air perfectly requiring only a couple of psi a year. I wish I could have found a reasonable price more local to my home address!
