I've been using Barum tyres for 9/10 years on your recommendation. I could buy better but not at Barum's prices. I've also found that they are very good in snow if your sensible.

Bought Barums a few years ago for an Xtype and was impressed. Current car had a Michelin sport tyre which seemed to pick up every little imperfection in the road surface resulting in the steering being pulled all-over the place.Have replaced with Barums and now the car drives impeccably, the difference the Barum has made means the car is now a joy to drive! Only slight down side is a little more road noise. Current prices are a bargain!

A great tyre at a great price and does the job very well indeed.

These are shocking. They are not suitable for an A5. They are not extra load at all and are soft even inflated. They are dangerous on motorways because they give no stability. So bad in fact I will be writing to you asking for them to be replaced.

I've bought Dunlops, Continentals, Pirelli's, Michelins in the past, but the Barum competes or even outperforms them all - great tyre for the a budget price.

These tyres are good in most respects but are less responsive to steering inputs and less grippy than the yokohamas they replaced .This is not a problem unless banzai performance is all important. They will probably last longer as a result.

I understand that the tyres are manufactured by bridgestone is that correct or not please advise etc.

Quality of tyre is a problem. In a matter of weeks tyre developed a bulge near the rim Tyre could not be used as a main tyre.

I'm now on my third set of Barums having recently just replaced a set of Westlakes (possibly the worst tyre in the world). The Barums are budget priced but are definitely not budget performance and provide absolutely superb grip in the wet and dry. That's not just compared to the Westlakes but are miles better than the GoodYears that were on the car originally and half the price. The tread on them doesn't look particularly sporty but boy do they grip well. They also wear pretty well (20000 miles) and provide a very quiet ride. Don't waste your cash on premium brand marketing cons, these are are as good as any of them and better than most.

It's still early days but I think the tyres represent good value for money. They give a smooth and quiet ride, every bit as good as more expensive tyres I've had on the car.

In response to the previous review relating to Jaguar fitments. The Jaguar 'J' fitments only relates to tyres fitted to smaller 16 inch wheels and whilst Jaguar do recommend Pirelli as a brand (bear in mind that they now recommend Dunlop...) it states in the handbook that as long as the tyres fitted meet their stipulated specification, they're acceptable. I'm running these 245/40/18 97Y tyres on a 240 bhp, fairly heavy rear wheel drive car. I fitted these as a direct replacement for some horrible Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres, having previously had two sets of the 'recommended' Pirelli P Zero Assimetricos. I initially struggled with the concept of fitting cheaper brand tyres however, could not ignore the very positive reviews along with the price. I've been very impressed so far and you know what....my car hasn't ended up in a ditch and my friends haven't ostracised me! In comparison to the Pirellis, the Barums grip far better in the wet and equally as well as the Dunlops. They're as good as the Pirellis and Dunlops in the dry, a good bit quieter than the Pirellis and compared to the Dunlops, they're on a different level (in a good way.) The sidewalls feel less stiff than the Dunlops (both have a load index of 97 though...) however, the car felt like it was driving on square tyres with the Dunlops and they were also prone to flat spotting after the car had been parked up for only a week. Strangely, I don't have this problem with the Barums. An up-side of the less stiff sidewalls is a softer, more comfortable ride with the trade off being that the handling isn't as precise as the Dunlops. However, having experimented with the tyre pressures, I found that the handling sharpness can be considerably improved by raising the pressures by 4-6 psi, with a negligible effect on ride comfort. I prefer the standard 31 psi 'comfort' setting and enjoy the ride! In summary, I'm very pleased with these tyres. I can't comment on their longevity as I've only covered around 1,000 miles since they were fitted 3 months ago, but taking into account the fact that I was so disappointed in every way with my previous Dunlops, these Barums are an excellent alternative at less than half the price of new Pirelli P Zeros. National Tyres ensured that I understood that Jaguar ONLY recommend Pirrelli and that there was some concern about side-wall strength; If this is the case then surely some of the tyre codings should reflect a lesser grade tyre but they do not - does anybody know the truth??? I still bought them because they seem okay and half the price of Pirrelli!!!!!!!!

Below average fitting service National Tyres Bedford. Did not bal;ance rear wheels consequent rear diff noise followed within 100 miles. Re balanced, now have marks chips on alloy wheels & a bearing noise in the rear. Shame as the tyres are good value.

David Luke - 17th August, 2012

Very impressed. There is little else under 100 pounds per tyre that would comfortably and safely grace the rear of a 260HP Porsche Boxster. Very pleased indeed. After a few miles around town scrubbing in the handing was better than the 5 year old n-rated Michelins they replaced.

simply the best....just as good as Michelin primacy but £ 150 cheaper These are made by continental but in a check factory superb tyre in that I have waited for them to come back in stock rather than change to another make....I cannot tell the difference between these and Michelin apart from the name on the tyre...excellent and last longer than Michelin too

The point at which I most notice the integrity of my tyres, is when I pull away. I have had many and varied cars and tyres, and these Barums are very impressive. I will definitely look for this make next purchase.

James Morgan - 20th July, 2012

Had four of the Barum tyres on my Focus for approximately two weeks. A bit early to discuss wear characteristics, but I am simply blown away by the performance over the last two weeks. Considering the amount of rain we have had in the UK these tyres are amazing in the wet. The cornering responsiveness is outstanding at all speeds, and I am impressed with the level of road noise which is minimal. My previous tyres on the Focus were Continental Contact 2, which were good and lasted 33,000 miles! However I could not justify the additional cost of replacing like-with-like especially having experienced these.

G c - 1st July, 2012

Great tyres, very similar to continentals which I have had before on another car, but for far less cost! Much quieter than the dunlops Which were standard fit and so far no real signs of wear. Great service from the chaps at national tyres too. All in all great value for money dunlops were double this price.

Steven Buck - 4th June, 2012

These are the best quality reasonably priced that I have ever used great all-round performers much better than the very expensive Pirelli P Zero's that I had fitted before that only lasted about 8000 miles, seemed to have have a mind of their own at times and agian the expensive Goodyear Eagles NCT5's before that they were great in the dry, but had little or no grip in the wet when using the turbo.

Due to the fact that of the car we drive is a people carrier cornering is never going to be down to the tyres!!! We have 4 barum bravarius tyres on this vehicle they seem to do the job just fine, for the cost was what we were looking to pay and I would recommend these tyres.

I was concerned when replacing the original michelins after 52,000 miles about noise, fuel economy, handling and wear. I had no need to be they are very good. There was a slightly different handling feel at first, but this was probably just having full tread again. After only 3,000 miles it is too early to tell on the wear but everything else is very good.

Clive Palmer - 22nd April, 2012

I had excellent service. The wheel balancing is perfect with no wobble. The Tyres are as good as I have had and compare with the Michelin Primacy I had on before. These tyres cost me £320 for the four. What a saving on the cost of Michelin or Continental that I was looking at!

Clifford George - 16th April, 2012

Took a few miles to bed in but am starting to feel better grip than Hancooks that i had before. To early to tell if wear is good but consdiering that my Espace eats front tyres if they get me 10000 miles they will equal the Mitchelins that were on the car initially. I also have these on my Audi A4 and the handling is fantastic. I have recommended to many friends all of whom have now bought.

I have a Skoda Yeti and I purchased these tyres as a replacement for the Standard Goodyears that were on the vehicle. These tyres are just as good as the Goodyears and a fraction of the cost. I have not had caused to drive in snow, the Goodyears were not good in snow, nor have I driven in heavy rain and had cause to break heavily. For the price they are a good replacement. I have not noticed any undue wear.
